How do I drag images from Photos into a Word document?

I regularly use my own photos in (Office for Mac) word documents I create. There was no problem dragging pictures from iPhoto app I had before. However, now with the "improved" Photos app, there seems to be no way I can drag my images into a document. How does one do this?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), Photos Version 1.0.1 (215.65.0)

Which version of Word are you using? You need a version that is fully compatible with Yosemite or the newer versions of macOS to be able to insert photos from Photos directly. If you are using Word 15.15 you can copy and paste photos from Photos into open Word documents or use the Photo Browser in Word to add photos. This is not possible with the Office 2011 versions.
