why does id recovery take so long?

I have been a long time Apple but this whole experience has made me thinkibg about going with their competition. I did not forget my password or id. For some reason I was kicked out of iCloud and it would not except my password. So I had to do ID Recovery, the CSR told me it should take 3 days. That was over a week ago! My iPhone decided to do an activation lock which I need my Apple ID to complete and because I don't the password for my trusted device I am locked out of my phone. I had to get a new phone just so I can make and receive calls. But I can't access any of my information on my old phone or in iCloud. No one can give me the status on where they are in the process or any other information. Because of this I have missed important sales calls, lost money and had to spend money on a new phone. Every other company can reset a password within a few minutes. Of course Apple has to make it a Black Ops operation. People need their phones and what kind of technology company takes this long to recovery a persons account ID?!?!!! Sorry Apple but you suck and so does your ID Recovery team which sounds like it consists of 2 people!!!! Why can't you guys do this fast? Why don't you talk to your customer about the progress of their recovery? And why don't you take a few pointers from your competition about how to recovery and ID in less than 24 hours?

This is why your Apple ID may get disabled:


If you or someone else enters your password, security questions, or other account information incorrectly too many times, your Apple ID automatically locks to protect your security and you can't sign in to any Apple services. You can unlock your Apple ID after you verify your identity.

I am currently having the issue of my ID being locked due to two factor authentication being my old disconnected number. I've been out of my phone for 4 days and I'm still waiting on the recovery to happen. To make it worse i cant even use the phone as its activation locked so i cant even reset the phone to log in with a different ID. I spoke with support on this on a number of occasions and all they said is wait it only takes a few days, Well apple I've waited a few day ad still i'm not in my phone. For such a corporate company you really don't like to help your customers at all this is the most stupid process i have ever endeavored and if my number was changed like i asked i wouldn't have this issue. It shouldn't take days for this to be resolved an hour at maximum if its lack of staff employ more people. Worse customer service i have ever received.
