I am considering buying an iPod nano for my daughter and I have Apple Music family sharing, will I be able to download a playlist and put it in the nano from Apple Music?

The Apple Music selections will disappear once you no longer renew the subscription.
Unlike regular iTunes music libraries, the Apple Music is more like a loaner library.

Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes on your computer using USB - Apple Support
Seems that if one desires to do all this, you'd need an iOS device.
Sorry, I'd been reading some articles that did not make it clear
about using USB to sync or share via iTunes, instead of Wi-Fi.

I gave away my iPod Nano, it was OK but limited. I don't bother
collecting music any more. And may give away my iPad Mini.
But an iPod Touch with adequate storage may be a good choice.
There sometimes are different versions in Apple refurbish section.
The word 'sync' relates to loading music to a device, even the iPod
Nano can sync only certain files, specific ways. Conditions imposed
by Apple Music are one of the reasons why the Nano may not be a
good choice of product. Older Nano had different specs, too.
{My earlier posted links are good for thought, because they do say
what is required to be able to do those steps -- with an iOS device.}
Can't see these syncing/sinking devices ~ all asking to be kept afloat/upgraded! 😝
The entire iPod line has been running on borrowed time; even an iPod Touch.
Although some users prefer it over a tablet or iphone as a niche product. And
others like it because it isn't a phone; although one may be able to place wi-fi
calls in specific circumstances. That was it's allure + an advance music player
with good camera that can accept third-party clip-on lenses.

And I'd be curious about other products, services, and accessibility with an
other kind of device. A music player isn't complicated, if that's all one wants.
Consider the life span of the product and age of the person enduring its quirks.
If you have other music available to share with the daughter, not streaming or
from the Apple Music, the Nano would be adequate as a good music player.
Good luck & happy trails! 🙂
Hi,
No, you can't copy Apple Music to an ipod npano because of copy protection. Apple Music need Internet connection to download music.
You can sync music that you have purchased.

HI,
Your reply to the original post does not seem relevant. The op asked if he could sync Apple Music to an iPod nano. The answer is no.
