transfer song from itunes to ext HD

Hello I have macbook air late 2013 10.10.5 yosemite when i transfer my itunes song in an ext Hard Disk they don't show up in the same way i do have in Itunes how can i get name of the song and artist Please?

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Paul,

If the song is in MP3, AAC. AIFF, or Apple Lossless, make sure the artist/title info is correct in iTunes. Then you can copy the song file wherever you want, and it will keep the correct info.

The above does not work for WAV files.
