Possible faulty Keyboard?

I opend my iPod 80 and opened today.
I updated the software, both in the computer and in the iPod, as iTunes required. Charged the device for 5 hours (just in case) as recommeded for full charge.

I loaded 1 song, to try the wheel and menus, and found out that the I cannot go back with the menus. All the keys and the wheel activate the clicker sound, but the menu key does not.

Obviously, I cannot reset the iPod, and the only way I can go back to main in by plugging the iPod to the computer, ejecting, and unplugging it.

Am I looking at a faulty keyboard? Is there anything else I can do to try to revive it, or is it better to request a replacement?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

Wintel, Windows 2000, ask me for them.
