Yeah there not movies from google. They are videos for work that use a shared google drive so I kinda have to use that drive if it was my choice I would use Apple but that's life and like i said before I've never had an issue before so I'm just trying to fix the issue if possible.
I have no issue watching them on my phone and they are downloaded there but for some reason when I go to switch to airplay it never does the video info box pops up on my Apple TV but it never plays. To me it's almost like it's playing somewhere else but it's not connected to any other media player?!
We are experiencing the exact same issues as you have described. All other videos work on airplay, just not the Google Drive ones. The google drive video plays on my phone and iPad but never for airplay. However it did, just a few weeks ago! The source of these is my son's high school. They are videos of their show choir performance being shared from the director to the kids. It would be nicer to watch on the big tv, for studying and for showing family. Very frustrating.
No all other video are fine so I know it's not my phone or the Apple TV. It just something with that google play drive videos that has just started cause I have never had this issue with that drive before about a week ago but I can play those video on other media players to my Apple TV the quality is just not as good and of course not as easy. Plus I would like to know why all of sudden it does not work just odd?
Google drive plays videos but it is hit or miss as far as wanting to do anything so I don't like to use it consistently. Allcast is another media player I've used they are are all just trying to find a solution because I can't get airplay to work for some reason. The flash on the screen is on Apple TV
I'm not sure I fully understand what you are doing with these videos but I don't really have anything to suggest. If mirroring isn't working for these videos, but is for other videos it would suggest that AirPlay has been deliberately blocked, but if these are work videos I wouldn't know why.
Airplay has never "blocked" these videos before so why now I guess that's what my question is. They are not inappropriate videos I work in healthcare and we have to do a lot of continuing education. I've even went back to older videos that I've never had issues with and they won't play either. Just don't understand why suddenly these videos don't play and previously Ive had no issue seems strange?!
Then don't by movies from Google, use iTunes on the Apple TV.
OK I'm with you. There shouldn't be an issue then provided they are on the phone. Could it be that they aren't downloaded to the phone? How do you usually watch them AirPlay or Mirroring?
But FYI mirroring does the exact same thing it just flashes on the screen no actual video
Are having any problems AirPlaying any other videos.
I'm not sure what you mean by other media players. How exactly are you playing the video.
When you say it flashes on screen when you mirror, which screen and what flashes.
It would be the developer that is blocking airplay, best to contact Google.
Ok I can try that -thanks
You would need to contact Google as it's either being blocked or there is an issue that they need to fix on the app
apple tv will not play google drive videos over airplay
