Iphone6 battery is suddenly discharging. IOS 10.2.1

my iphone6 has suddenly begun to discharge quickly. A full charge may last 12 hours with no use. I am on IOS 10.2.1. I have shut down most apps and settings that typically drain the battery but to no avail. Suggestions please

iPad Air, iOS 8.0.2

Hi

Depending on the nature of the issue, your iPhone may require battery service.

Before contacting Apple, try the following steps:

Close all apps on your iPhone and restart it (normally):

Follow Apple's tips for maximising battery life, as detailed here:

When charging your iPhone, follow the instructions in the following support article, including:

Check whether the issue persists after restoring your iPhone to factory settings:

If the issue persists, I suggest that you contact Apple Support (mail-in service may be available), make a Genius Bar reservation or visit an Apple Authorised Service Provider for assistance, including - if recommended - to arrange for your iPhone to be checked and serviced (whether under warranty, if eligible, or via chargeable repair service):

Thank you for the response. Unfortunately, non of the suggestions worked including my appointment with Genius Bar. It was determined that my battery is fine but something in the IOS is the cause. I was told to wait for future IOS releases for the fix. In the meantime the only option is to shut down my IPhone6 and purchase a cheap flip phone until a remedy can be completed. Any additional input is very appreciated.
