Hitting the home button doesn't always wake up the screen

I have got a new iphone 6S Plus. Sometimes my iphone doesn't want to wake up immediately after pressing the home button or the power button. The screen stays black. I have to wait for a few seconds.

When I hit the home/power button again the phone usually wakes up or... wakes up and makes a screen shot!

It happens 2-3 times per day.

I have active option "raise to wake" and sometimes it also doesn't work (Sometimes I have to wait a few seconds or additionally press the button).

I tried to make a factory reset from the phone (a new iphone) but it didn't work.

I think that the power and home buttons are working ok when the system is running.

Is it some kind of IOS problem?

IOS seems to get the signal that the home button/power was pressed or the phone was raised but sometimes it doesn't respond immediately.

I would suggest contacting Apple Support. They can guide you in the right steps. They can determine if it's a hardware or software issue.

If you want you can restore and start from new for a few days. But back your device up before.

For it to be a hardware problem it doesn't mean it won't work at all. It can work on and off.

For example you get water damage on your iPhone. At first it's fine but later on you will have problems.

Hello,

That's not normal.

It sounds like a possible hardware problem. Has a restart helped?

I would suggest contacting Apple Support as they can try some troubleshooting steps. And if a repair is needed they can help set one up.

You can also make a Genius Bar appointment as they have the tools to see what exactly is wrong. And can guide you a solution.

Okay since a restore didn't fix it, it sounds more like a hardware problem.

Have you tried making a Genius Bar appointment as they have tools to see what's exactly wrong or contacting Apple Support so they can try some troubleshooting steps?

I did a restart and I have even erased all content and setting (from the phone menu). Should I try restore a pure system from itunes?

It's a pretty strange issue.. It's very difficult to repeat this error. Most time it works great. It happens 2-3 time per day.

I think If it was a hardware problem the phone would not wake up at all ;-)

It's my first iPhone:) It was to be a "smarfton without any problems"🙂

I have restored the system from itunes (as a new iPhone). It didn't help. My wife has got iPhone 6s and I have noticed that her phone has the same issue. It didn't have any issues before ios 10.
