Export PDF from iBooks in iOS

As I understand it, system wide save to pdf is built into iOS 10 and above.

When I export a pdf from iBooks in iOS 10 the pdf is always blank. However, if I export from another app it is not. For example, if I export an email message with the built in Mail app in a pdf format, say to iCloud Drive, the pdf of the email exports as it should and can be read from iCloud Drive with no problem. This export is with all built apps, etc. and no the iPhone is not jailbroken.

Is this by design and Apple is still not supporting save to pdf from iBooks in iOS?

I have found that this does work correctly, but only if iBooks is set to use iCloud in the iCloud settings. Then the pdfs export correctly. There must be some type of server side action taking place. Can any confirm this is as intended and correct?

I can “Import with iBooks” pdf attachments in Mail, and they’re fine. Have you tried any troubleshooting like deleting the app and reinstalling, or a reset of ipad ie hold power and home buttons simultaneously till the Apple logo appears?

I misunderstood your originaL message. I can export pdfs from iBooks to certain apps. I can't export to iCloud Drive probably because I don't have it enabled for iBooks. I'm still in the dark what you're problem actually is as you say it's ok exporting pdfs from iBooks with iCloud enabled.
