Unable to sign out of previous apple ID as it no longer exists. Cannot temporarily change it as the forums recommend as I am asked for a verification code that is sent to a non-existent email. Please help. I'm on IOS 10, issue is on iMac. My iPhone and iPad seem to have survived the change (and when I go into "Internet accounts" the new Apple ID is already reregistered on my iMac. Yet when I go into iCloud settings, the old one is there.

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014), macOS Sierra (10.12.3)

You might want to try one other thing. Open the iCloud Preferences, and uncheck the Find My Mac option and then when it asks for the password, try the current one there.

If that doesn't work, then you will need to contact iCloud Support to see if they can get it straightened out: iCloud - Official Apple Support. Scroll to the bottom and select Get Support, then Account & Setup>The Topic is Not Listed>type in the description about not being able to sign out>then set up your call as desired.

Hi Gail, please see 3 images below to help explain.

When I go into "iCloud" the old email is there.

In "Internet Accounts" the new one is there.

The new one is on my iPad, my iPhone and when I log into "AppleID" via browser to temporarily change back to the old ID so I can sign out, it says it's sent a verification code to the old email. Which of course I can't access.
