Gmail chat keeps logging out only on Safari

Hey,

Since I updated my Safari (Version 10.0.3), Gchat keeps constantly logging out once I navigate to a different page. Meaning it logs out like 15 times a minute. Sometimes also during I chat. It is really, terribly annoying and is been going on for over 10 days now. Could you please help me? Cause otherwise I have to switch to Chrome or something, which I didn't want to do, cause I really love Safari in general. (I asked about the issue on Gmail's support and the problem only exists on safari and no other browsers....) Thank you so much in advance!

That seems odd. Mine never logs out, no matter what. What's your cookie situation like in your browser and/or do you have a setting somewhere to log you out? I'll exit my mail.google.com page but anytime I go back to it, GChat is still there and conversations remain active. And this is in Safari btw. Perhaps just keep a window open to Chat and Gmail but keep it minimized when not using?

Might be caused by an extension, Internet plug-in, or other ad ons.

Go to Safari Preferences/Extensions and turn all extensions off. Test. If okay, turn the extensions on one by one until you figure out what extension is causing the problem.

Try restarting Safari with the shift key held down. Try going to Safari/Preferences/Security and uncheck Allow Plug-ins. Quit and reopen Safari. If Safari works normally, Safari/Preferences/Security Plug-in Settings and uncheck all plug-ins. Then Allow Plug-ins and recheck them one at a time until you find the problem.
