Unlocking an iPhone with a broken screen

Need to be able to unlock an iPhone with a broken screen in order to undertake a backup, any suggestions? As soon as I plug it into my iMac it needs to be unlocked or able to trust the computer, neither of which can be done due to the screen being inoperative. Really need the photos off the phone and no I didn't setup an iCloud backup.
