Can't find iPod Nano Driver - get Windows Found New Hardware

Hi from Oz. Yet another struggling new iPod user.

I have downloaded the new iTunes 7.02 software, the iPod nano 4GB is connected and charging OK, BUT Windows says New Hardware Detected, and wants a driver location. It tells me to insert the CD which came with the product, but no CD was supplied. I expected that the installation of iTunes would have installed the driver, but apparently not. (If it is somewhere, I can't find it) I have searched through the manuals and the threads and even Google for mention of this issue, can't see it anywhere.

I must be unique, but please point me in the right direction if you can. My son and daughter will be ever so grateful!

I'm having exactly the same problem.

I created a thread regarding my situation (also yours) and the only response I've had so far is from someone who has provided a link to the following page.
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61711

Which unfortunately is no help.

Windows seems to ask for a driver to be located on the computer before it appears in "My Computer" or iTunes - it would have been so much easier if the iPod Nano came with a CD rather than without, to help install the iPod Nano.

If you resolve this problem without help from a member of this discussion board, please let us/me know.

Thanks,
Oli

I LOVE YOU MITCH!

Even though I didn't follow all of your instructions, my iPod is now working like a charm!

I downloaded the two files you told me to, even though they didn't appear to be for an iPod Nano.

Then I plugged in my iPod Nano with thed USB cable. When the 'New Hardware Found' window appear, I selected 'Yes, this time only'. Then I went onto the 'Advanced' option and asked it to look in a specific location, which was 'C:\WINDOWS\Driver Cache\i368' - this is where I had downloaded the two files which Mitch asked me to download.

I clicked OK, and it started installing. It said that it wasn't 'Windows Logo varified' or something similar, but I clicked 'Continue Anyway'.

Seconds afterwards, 'OLI'S IPOD: (E:)' appeared in My Computer and it also appeared in iTunes =]

The ~12 MB iPod driver download didn't look like working, and in fact I had a crash just after... though I seem to be stable now. Following Oli's apparent success, I downloaded the Samsung usbstor.sys and the 19308380-01 usbstor.zip file containing the usbstor.inf, and proceeded as per Oli. Have got some stuff happening OK now, will explore more tomorrow. (Now midnight here!)
