apple watch not pairing

yesterday i bought i watch series 2 when i try to pair it with my iphone 6splus i am getting an error that your iphone is out of date even my phone is up to date please help me thanks

Hi


In order to pair and set up Apple Watch, your iPhone needs to be running the latest version of iOS, which is currently iOS 10.2.1.


To update your iPhone:


Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support


Be sure to make a backup first:
