How much space will 175gb of photos take on an iPhone?

I have roughly 175gb of photos from the last 20 years. For my mom's birthday, I wanted to buy her 200 gb of icloud storage and put the photos on her device. If I put optimize storage on my device the miniscule 1gb of photos I've taken recently take up almost 500mb on my device. Would my mom's phone have 40-50gb of photos stored on it even with the optimize storage option?

(She has a 64gb device... I simply want to know how much storage the photos will take up even with the optimize storage option on)

Sorry, but I don't believe there is a hard & fast answer to your question about exactly how much storage on your device the "optimized" versions of the photos will take. As the article says: Your library is optimized only when you need space, starting with the photos and videos you access least.

When photos are fully optimized, there is an approximate 90% saving in storage space.
