I tested Keynote Live during lessons at University (productivity) and at home (for fun). I am afraid I haven't come across the problem in order to be of any help.
Here are my thoughts on the issue: Have you tested different devices? Like, if animations have not shown on a web link, it might be because some browsers might not support animations that you are using in your presentation, because any animation you added in your presentation needs an adequate html5 (i guess) counterpart.
What I found, though, using Keynote Live, was:
- text only starts animating on the shared device (iPhone 5c, same WiFi) when presentation on the Mac has finished animation. This isn't particular helpful when you like to say something after each bullet point.
- slides have an obvious latency → you'll have to keep in mind when presenting.
- contradictory to Apple's marketing images on their Keynote website, there's no moderation view, when holding a Keynote Live presentation.
