Iphone and whatsapp chat settings

Recently, when i was using whats app in Iphone 6 it stopped showing earlier messages and few minutes later it automatically started to display "restoring your chats" which was not done. After another couple of minutes, it got all closed and whats app stopped working.

Kindly let me know hat to do????
