Can't upload videos from iMovie to YouTube on iPad

This has recently become a problem on my own personal iPad (iOS 10.2.1) and our school iPads. When I try to upload from iMovie (version 2.2.3) it says "Exporting" but then goes to "Uploading to YouTube" and it never completes. Advice most appreciated, thanks!
