Bluetooth hands-free texting
iPhone 7 user here, new to iOS coming from years of Windows Phone. While the WP ecosystem is dying, it did have one feature I found to be indispensable, that iOS cannot match, yet.
While connected to BT, I would be prompted by Cortana when I had an incoming text, and who it was from. Then I was given options to read or ignore it. After being read, I could choose to reply, call back, or be done.
IIRC, the only thing I had to do in my phone settings was make a selection to allow this capability, I can't remember what it was called, but I can look it up in the old Lumia 925 tomorrow.
This seems like a no-brainer for Apple to include, I'm surprised it hasn't been included for years now, given the need for truly hands-free in-car communication. I know you can plug in the phone and use Hey Siri or CarPlay, but that still doesn't provide voice prompts for incoming messages, and/or is not truly hands-free.
I'm loving my iPhone otherwise, but for all the driving I do, this is a must-have feature.
Any workarounds for the time being, or more importantly, hope for inclusion in a (near) future update? I've already submitted a suggestion to Apple.
