Slow keyboard response when Trackpad connected

I use Apple Bluetooth Keyboard (bought 2011). Sometimes I also use Apple Bluetooth Trackpad (bought 2011). Whenever I connect the trackpad, the response from the keyboard becomes very slow. When I type something on my keyboard, while trackpad is connected, it takes 3 seconds for each letter to appear. Any suggestions?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

Thanks for posting your question in the Apple Support Community. I understand you're noticing a delay when using your Bluetooth keyboard along side your Trackpad on your Mac. I can understand how this would be a concern while you're trying to work, and I'm happy to help.

You may want to remove those Bluetooth devices, then re-connect them to your Mac. You can find the steps for that here:

If you're still having trouble after re-connecting your Bluetooth accessories, there may be some interference causing your connectivity issues. I recommend to take a look over the info in the following article for some help.

Did you find a solution for your KB speed problem yet....??

If not, have you any other equipment [ bluetooth wise ], connected con-currently.....??

Speakers especially, is system sleeps they tend to cause [ hick ups ]......

Also checking the speed in system preferences as well migt be a good idea ...
