logic pro x clicks and pops NOT in waveform editor

Logic Pro X 10.3.0 on Sierra 10.12.3, Universal Audio interface (silver face Apollo)

I have one Session that is exhibiting a "click & pop" problem in a recorded audio tracks. I'm only having this problem in one Session out of numerous other sessions recorded with the same set up.

There is a random (yes, random) click that happens at the same time on one track. If I zoom all the way in on the waveform editor, I do not see the click, but can hear it.

(Note: I have 10+ years ProTools experience, but I am relatively new to Logic)

Sometimes the click is not audible, sometimes it is.

I have tried:

- removing all plug ins and processing of course

- exporting this one track and re-importing it to a fresh session, and the click is still there

- setting the gain of the clip to make sure it is in a "safe" range (about -12dB average signal, well below 0dB peaks)

I have several sessions recorded with the same interface/computer/etc, and only this session has the problem.

I would really like to save this performance, it is a very good and unique take - I don't want to lose it.

Is the session corrupt? Just the track? How would you propose saving this track?

Thanks!

Chris & J McDowell, thanks, I will try the buffer settings - we'll be back in the studio Sunday and I'll post if that fixes it.

Also good idea on processing edits & fades and plug ins, I will check that too - however I saw the problem with the track solo'ed and all plug ins out.

Protools has a common DAE error when you're out of CPU power, and I've never seen a random click/pop except the rare case of a corrupted session.

I'm not surprised that logic has different behavior, but since audio quality is so critical, I'm a little surprised it doesn't give an error before this would happen.

Thanks!

I had some time today so I tried the buffer setting on 1024, the click is still there.

The track is solo'ed, no plugins.

The CPU load bar is about 10%

Maybe I am not experience with the waveform editor? I followed several video tutorials, and I'm pretty sure I'm not missing a waveform glitch.

This audio interface is a UAD Apollo, I have used it for 3 years now, this is the only session and there are two tracks with these glitches.

Is there a way I can post 2 sec of the waveform here with the glitch for someone else to double check?

Test playback and recording with no scroll in play. Seems Sierra clicks and pops when the project visually scrolls left to right. This did not happen in Mavericks and started happening on El Capitain and seems to have gotten worse in Sierra. To get around this I shrink my view to a zoomed out view when handling memory intensive midi or audio wav recording. This minimizes the chance of scroll and I turn scroll lock off. Very frustrating.
