Push Mail doesn't word

Hello everybody!

I just got my new (and first) Iphone. Everything fine so far - but: I have 2 Mail-Accounts configured. Both IMAP and Push. Both don't work - both accounts don't synchronize until I open the Mail - App.

Everything seems to be configured the right way. The accounts are T-Online and Posteo. I used them this way for years - with Android.

What can be the reason for this? If I don't get this to work correctly it would be a NoGo...

Check:

Settings → General → Background App Refresh → Background App Refresh = ON

Settings → Notifications → Mail → Allow Notifications = ON

Settings → Notifications → Mail → For each account and Thread Notifications → everyhing is turned on & Alert style is Banner

Try restarting your device, see if that help:

On an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Volume Down buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

On an iPhone 6s and earlier, iPad, or iPod touch: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

If not, then try Settings → General → Reset → Reset Network Settings

Hello again!

Talked to Apple-Support some hours ago. Sad news for me - and some million other customers at least in Germany:

T-Online and posteo are using IMAP-IDLE. Apple supports this only with macOS, not with IOS. It seems neither Apple nor any of my Providers are willing to solve that Problem.

So as it looks today I will return my IPhone on Monday and switch back to Android. What a mess...

OS aber schon). Die iOS Push-Funktion wollen wir nicht verwenden, weil

Apple dafür Nutzerdaten abfragt und speichert, die wir aus Gründen der

Anonymität nicht weitergeben wollen. Es tut uns leid. Apple bietet

weiterhin auch keine alternativen Push-Dienste an, die wir nachrüsten

könnten.
