iMovie Not Duplicating Projects

Working off iMovie 10.1.4, Mac OS Sierra 10.12.3.

In my iMovie projects screen, I am unable to successfully duplicate any projects. Some projects do allow me to click the option, though nothing happens. On others, as soon as I move the cursor off the actual title, the small circle icon to the right from which to access the play/open/copy/share (etc) menu disappears entirely.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

I do a number of videos with common elements, so duplicating one version and then adding the new elements is a tremendous time saver. But for the life of me I can't figure out why iMovie has suddenly stopped allowing project duplication.

Hi,

Try restarting your computer and then launching iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys, and then selecting to delete preferences from the box that appears. Sometimes that cures glitches when iMovie misbehaves.

You might also try duplicating your project by using the Duplicate item in the Edit menu.
