How do I get rid of XAMPP?
I am a moderately experienced PC user; but I am new to using an iMac, or Apple products in general.
Following some rather detailed instructions I managed to install an application called XAMPP on my iMac, as a preliminary step to installing Wordpress, which by the way is installed within XAMPP.
Somehow in the process of trying to install Wordpress itself — for which I do not have detailed instructions — I have messed things up; and Wordpress does not work (at all). There are many dozens of files, and folders of files, etc., under XAMPP. I am thinking at this point the thing do is to remove XAMPP and all the files and folders of files under XAMPP, and then start all over again, i.e., reinstall XAMPP and then Wordpress.
So, my question is: How do I remove XAMPP? Do I just highlight in ‘Finder’ the application XAMPP, and then under the Finder File menu item select ‘Move to Trash’? And if I do this, will all of the dozens of files and folders under XAMPP also be cleared out and removed to trash? Is this an acceptable way to get rid of the old XAMPP, and clearing the way for starting all over again?
BTW What is the difference between the iMac community and the iMac(PPC) community ?
