I'm having a hard time updating my iMac desktop to Mac OS sierra it keeps giving me an error message after the four options appear , blocking it out in gray that my macintosh he is locked . How can I unlock it ? Please help me I've been without my system for a while and have no time to bring it to a Apple stire

And no one else has access it's just myself for home use
I tried to originally update to Mac OS sierra and then those 4 options to reinstall , disk utilities and safari help but it kept saying it couldn't proceed to download because the macintosh had is locked
Did you use FileVault or Open Firmware password?
Does anyone else have access to the computer?
Did you setup a password upon receipt of the computer or use a password for software update?
You may need to remove the open firmware lock on the machine before you can upgrade.
