Where is launchpad - to add an app to the dock?
What does the :aunchpad icon look like and where do I find it so I add an app to the dock?

It's a gray circle with a rocket ship icon. On modern Macs, you can press the F4 key to access it. By the way, to drag an application into the Dock, you don't need to use Launchpad, you can just drag it from the Applications folder in Finder to the Dock.
