How can I slow down speech in my Podcasts?

How can I slow down speech in my Podcasts? It seemed to come on without me doing anything anything on my part.

iPad Air, iOS 10.2.1

Hi. Can you explain what "came on"? Did podcast playback suddenly speed up?
