mathtype 6.7 and keynote (6.6)

I just don't seem to get MathType (6.7) to work with Keynote (6.6). All hints out there, i.e. first run Mathtype then Keynote or re-install Mathtype are done, whatever I do, when first running Mathtype then opening Keynote, the menu-option "Insert > Mathtype Equation..." remains greyed out.

Is there a solution? Or does Keynote 7 overcome this problem?

If not, this essentially makes Keynote useless for engineering classroom usage... (equations should be editable from Keynote, not inserted as a picture)

I wanted to close the loop on this, in case anyone else sees the question and wonders about the answer. We have been in contact with spacejedi by email, and his issue was resolved by downloading and installing the most recent version of MathType, which at the time of this writing, is 6.7h. You can always download the most recent version of MathType from our website at www.dessci.com/DL. Anyone is welcome to do this, even if you have not purchased a product key. Without a product key, the product becomes MathType Lite after the 30 day trial period, and you may continue to use MathType Lite for free as long as you want.
