No event clips showing but iMovie project has the media?

I have iMovie v10.1.4.

So, when you open a project, above the timeline space there are three areas:

-The left side is the media.

-The center area shows the clips in your project (as long as you have the project highlighted on the left),

-And the right side is the preview window to see your video.

On one project, there are no clips showing in the center when I have the project highlighted on the left. But in the timeline it does show all the project media there when I scroll through, with no question marks anywhere.

I thought it was maybe it was a weird glitch so I closed down iMovie and opened it up again and the same thing showed only for this project. No clips showing in the center area. I double checked and the project is highlighted on the left.

And, the project is in the same library where the event is also located. I clicked on the event and the media clips are definitely there, within the same library, in the same location. But no clips show for this project file name when highlighted at the top, but the project has all the media showing in the timeline only.

Any reason why this is like that?

Hi,

You mentioned that this was happening on one project. Sometimes projects develop glitches for no discernible reasons. I suspect that if you do an Edit/Select All and Edit/Copy, and then paste your project media into a new project, the project media will display properly. If it doesn't, try restarting your computer and then launching iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys, and selecting to delete preferences in the box that appears.
