At the Home screen, double-click the button with the TV icon on the Siri Remote. The top button on the right.
See Quickly switch between apps on Apple TV - Apple Support - it also covers how to close apps.
Thanks for your help.
So just to clarify, if I am using Netflix on my Apple TV gen 3 there are no other apps/channels running in the background or anything else using data?
I am finding that my Apple TV is using around 16mb per second where I believe HD Netflix only uses 5mb per second.
Can't seem to figure out why it is using so much data.
Hi,
I am trying to do this on Apple TV (3rd Gen).
Does anyone have instructions for this as the above link does not work.
Thanks
This thread is in relation to the 4th gen. The 3rd gen doesn't have apps, only preset channels sent via server, so it isn't relevant
3rd gen doesn't have any apps so there's nothing to run in the background. HD streaming will usually be 3GB per hour.
