I wanted to share songs in my iTunes library. I am able to share 'purchased' songs via home sharing but not the whole library. If home sharing does not allow you to share other than purchased that defeats the purpose of sharing.
I am sure there is way around it.

Huh? Home sharing lets you share music sourced from places other than the iTunes Store, it's family sharing that is set up for servicing iTunes Store music. Home Sharing does have its restrictions (one Apple ID only) but it isn't intended that you be able to share everything with everybody in the world. If you're trying to share within a household get a flash drive.
