Anyone having problems deleting cookies?

The "manage website data" tab in the privacy section of preferences won't show any cookies when I initially open it, but if I cancel the window and then re-open it, it then shows all of them.

The problem is that no matter how I select any of them, induvidually or in multiples, it just deletes all of them.

Is anyone else having this issue?

iMac, macOS Sierra (10.12.3), 2010 3.06 GHz i3

That does sound like an odd issue that someone will provide a good suggestion on.

I know this is not what you asked for help with, but here is a suggestion that will open Safari with "A new private browsing window". A Private browsing window will clear all cookies when you exit the browser and therefore you will no longer need to clear cookies manually:

  1. Click Safari menu
  2. Choose "Preferences"
  3. On the "General" tab
  4. Set the "Safari opens with" setting to: "A new private browsing window"

Note that private browsing features of all modern browsers help to keep your local browser clean of most browsing history (and cookies). However, the unfortunate fact is that modern browser fingerprinting techniques have made it nearly impossible for anyone to prevent websites from tracking you. Clearing cookies, ad blockers, and privacy extensions do nothing to prevent tracking using current techniques. Until browsers start building in far better tools to help users protect privacy, we are all being tracked no matter how privacy savvy we believe we are.

You wrote : A Private browsing window will clear all cookies .

It will not clear all cookies , if private browsing is enabled it will " never save " cookies in future while browsing , and you have not to clear cookies again and again as we clear in non - private browsing window ( by taking cursor on top menu bar > history > clear all history and website data .
