LG 29UM68-P with 2016 15" MacBook Pro

Hello,

Any help sorting this out would be greatly appreciated.

I am hoping to verify some info from Apple regrading the New 2016 MacBook Pro 15" and the use of the LG 29UM68-P monitors. I have read that his monitor is not capable of hitting the 2560 x 1080 resolution via an HDMI cable, but Apples customer support states that it can.

Apples customer support also states that the Thunderbolt 3 does not support the DisplayPort on this monitor and they state that there are no adapters to do so. I have seen thunderbolts 3 to Displayport on amazon.

Thanks in advance. I was hoping to order these monitors tonight because I found them on sale.

So at this point I am very confused. I am looking at buying the new MacBook Pro and three of these monitors in the next few days.
