Mac Mini Maximum Resolution over Thunderbolt

Hey everyone!

First question on these boards although I have been an Apple user for many years now! I have read through several threads but I could not find an answer to my question...I admit I am not too technical when it comes to displays, connections and resolution so I may have missed the answer somewhere. I apologise in advance if this is the case.

I was interested in purchasing a Mac Mini together with an LG ultra fine 4K display. Now, I understand the LG display connects to the Mini through Thunderbolt. My question is: what is the maximum resolution I can expect to achieve by connecting a Mac Mini to this particular display? Also, I noticed that the cheaper Mac Mini runs an Intel HD Graphics 5000 while the pricier version has Intel Iris Graphics. Does this affect the maximum resolution?

Thanks in advance for the help!
