used as the log email for iTunes for the 1st edition if the ipod touch, .
so he married our IDS , HOW CAN I CORRECT THIS .

What do you mean 'married our IDS' ? iTunes accounts can't be combined nor merged, so he either used your id (and didn't create a new account for himself), or there wasn't an account already with that email address (in which case your id must be using a different email address).
If you want him to use a new account (anything he has already downloaded will remain tied to that account) : Set up an Apple ID to use in the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store, and with Apple Music and Apple News - Apple Support
