Can I connect an Apple Cinema Display (A1082) to my 2016 Macbook Pro (15 inch)?

Hi,

I have an older Apple Cinema HD display (A1082) and am trying to connect it to my new 2016 Macbook Pro (15 inch).

I had been using a DVI-D adaptor to mini display port and running it through the Thunderbolt outlet on my Macbook Air. However I've heard that mini display port adaptors to USB-C won't work as an added extension in this scenario.

Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

You need to start with USB-C and end up with Single-Link DVI. (That display is 1902 wide or less).

This should do the job, except that it is out-of-stock until next week:

Monoprice Select Series USB-C DVI Multiport Adapter Product # 15759 $29.99
