Thank you for your fast reply, I am using this damaged iPhone 5S since one year now and except the SIM card problem it still worked fine and I was using it to play music on my active loudspeakers bought at Apple. Unfortunately I erased all datas today and ask to reset the iPhone as I wasn't aware that a SIM Card is need to reset it. We have plenty of Apple products at home and the old damaged iPhone 5S was quite nice to have working to play music. Any chance in getting it back to its old setup, so that I can at least use it as a kind of "iPod" !

Would be really a pity to through it way as it is a high end one with 65GB.

Thank you for your understanding and thank your for your reply in advance.

Kindest Regards

I use my old iPhone 5 to stream music only, i.e., I use it as an iPod Touch in Airplane Mode with Wi-Fi turned on. My understanding is that a SIMs is only needed to first activate the phone. Once the phone is activated the SIMs can be removed and the phone still used for all other services except Cellular. I would try a different SIMs to see if you can get it to work. After that you can remove the SIM. The phone may eventually corrode but nothing to lose in trying.
