Today upon opening Mail (OS X 10.12.3) I found DUMPSTER folders associated with both of our Comcast mail accounts. One folder indicates 20 items and the other indicates 11 items. Upon opening one of the DUMPSTER folder, there appears to be 100's of emails, with 1 to 20 copies of individual emails. What are DUMPSTER folders and how do you get rid of them?

It must have been problems with the Comcast servers. After reading the referenced comments - Comcastmust have been the problem. The 2 DUMPSTER folders of 100's of deleted emails disappeared by them selves earlier they afternoon. Thanks for the help.
