iPhone 6 battery suddenly draining fast!

Last night I watched my battery go from 75% to 10% to dead in a matter of minutes. Charged it overnight and watched it do the same thing again today. I've gone through the normal steps of closing all apps, turning off notifications, turning off location services, switching to low power mode, doing a hard reset, cleaning the charging port, and updating to latest ios version. Nothing helps! This phone is 2 years old and has worked like a charm until last night. I use this phone daily for work and don't understand why this would suddenly happen. Please help!

I have notice this in the past week also on my iPhone 6 that used to go 3 days between charging and now hardly makes it through the day. I have closed all apps and didn't really touch the phone and it lost 25% in four hours which is crazy fast. I have noticed the podcast app seems to be using location services (I never noticed it before but when you go into settings, there is no way to turn off location services for the podcast app. Outside of that does anyone have any other good suggestions?

Likewise for me; I have not installed anything new except OS latest updates. (11.2.5)

Recorded battery, mainly standby, couple of emails read.

49% @ 12:04

46% @ 12:09

18% @ 13:37 now switch to low power mode

2 years old, used to hold charge for few days even with use.

Now I own it, it starts to go flat quicker than an F1 tyre !

Not happy, and yes I been through all the settings, not that I have much on in the background.

Not a social media follower, just email and WhatsApp for comms.

Trying the let it go flat argument.

Yesterday morning my iPhone 6 had 1% battery, I didn't put it on charge as something else was already plugged in. The phone died but I left it as I wasn't using it at they moment. When the iPad had enough charge I plugged the phone in and in about ten minutes it still wouldn't turn on. I took it down stairs and plugged it in a different charger. 20 minutes later, still nothing. I went with my family and had dinner on the way home. Got back my phone had 93% charge and my mum said my friend was calling me. I answered and took my phone off charge, walked upstairs and my phone went down to 1%. I told him I didn't know what it was doing but it has started doing this. I plugged iit in and it suddenly went up to 79%. I put it on low power mode and it still went down fast but not as fast. It died whilst I was talking to him but face time seems to drain a lot of my battery.

I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO?!

cshrout,

Go to Settings > Battery and scroll down to BATTERY USAGE to see the apps that are consuming your battery. If any of the apps have unusually high usage they can be shut down (double tap the Home button, scroll left or right to find the app, then swipe up to shut it down).

As time goes by you should be able focus on the problem apps. Usually it is a rogue app constantly running in the background. You should then be able adjust the settings to the problem app to solve your problem.

Let us know how it goes.

If you know you're not going to use it, for example when I'm not at college I barely use it. I just stick it on airplane mode throughout the whole day. Or perhaps carrying a portable charger with you through out the day, so it'll last. The iPhone battery's are kind of funny like that, or perhaps letting the phone die off, so it's 0% and completely dead and letting it charge from 0%-100% because, sometimes a battery needs a good let down to be full again, because of the energy and particles in the iPhone battery, it works around the clock unbelievably. Also another solution, carry the charger that came with the phone and keep it safe and stick it on charge when you need it or when you know you're going to need the battery life. Or even taking to an official Apple Store and getting battery checked.

Hope this has helped, Denzer, Best wishes, kind Regards Tony.

Karlene56,

I have this problem also my iPhone 6 won't last more then a couple hours even on airplane mode with all apps closed with no use, also my iPhone only will charge with an iPad charger and no other brick or cable I have tested the wall bricks and cables and they work. I had my battery and charging port replaced and it still drains just as fast. My iPhone 6 is completely unusable and I don't know what else to do.
