Why doesn't apple allow us to delete a child account from family sharing. We create it but cant remove it until they are 13? Give me control over my own account.
My real issue is that by utilizing family sharing it forces you to have a credit card linked.

If your child is under the age of 13 and isn't an educational Apple ID holder, Apple must close and delete all information associated with their account."
So it looks like you could delete the child but you would have to get Apple to do it as part of their deleting the child's account (losing all purchases in the process).
It is unlikely Apple will change the credit card requirement. I would guess it is integral to ensure Family Sharing be done between people who are part of a close group and prevent it from being any college dorm somewhere.
If Apple won't do it then they won't do it. I guess you could write to them but I don't know what else to suggest.

Thanks, Lemnos, makes sense for the credit card info. Do you you know how to get apple to delete the child account. I've called and been told it can't be done?
