Is FileZilla safe to install on my older MacBook Pro?

Hello,

I have a 13" MacBook Pro running El Capitan 10.11.6

My mac is older, I purchased it in 2010, I mention it in case it makes any difference. My question is about installing FileZilla on my Mac, and if it would cause any problems. I would not want to risk downloading anything which would cause problems with malware.
The reason I was looking into FileZilla is because I would like to access an SD card located in my hand-held game console over a wifi connection instead of having to remove the SD card manually.

It is safe to use FileZilla, but you will need to set up FTP server to transfer files. Didn't you try to share files using file sharing on your Mac? For more info see How to connect with File Sharing on your Mac - Apple Support

If your console has a file manager, you should be able to share files between your devices.

Hi Ptaxey, thanks for your reply to my question. Are you saying I can use File Sharing on my Mac to access the SD card on my game (Nintendo 3DS XL) console? I checked out the link you posted, I just don't see how I could access the SD card on the nintendo console.
