Apple TV appears in Output Device list

Suddenly, a couple of days ago, Apple TV appeared as a choice in the list of output devices under the volume icon on the menubar. I have never owned an Apple TV. I have hit it a few times when trying to go back to the Headphones item so it is mildly annoying. Anybody know how to get rid of it? Maybe I have to buy an Apple TV.

Just to be sure that was not it, I did disconnect the Wifi, change the password, and turn it back on. All of the valid AirPlay devices disappeared because they needed setup again for the new password. But the "Apple TV" was immediately back on the iMac's menu.

Your response did get me thinking though. I checked my other Mac and iPhone, on the same wireless network, after re-setting up the Airplay devices. No AppleTV in their output device list. Only the iMac has an AppleTV. I have Airfoil on the iMac, an Airplay manager that lets you send output to multiple Airplay speakers at the same time. Airfoil itself does not list the AppleTV as an output device, but I wonder if a recent Airfoil update that says it fixes an AppleTV output issue may be the culprit.
