Calculator using my location
Just to sell the information or for the government too keep track of peoples spendings ...
(probably going a little far, but who actually knows?!! )
can't imagine why apple would even tell the public why.

Thanks for your help.
Are you SURE you're using the default, stock Calculator app that's part of the standard iOS configuration?
In my i6+ with iOS 10.2.1 it never causes a location lookup (arrow in the status bar), does not appear in Settings / Privacy / Location Services' list of apps that have requested that. Methinks you're using a dodgy third-party app.
Your post makes less sense with each response.

Actually, if you were using iOS 10, you could delete the application if you wish.
Regardless, it's still true Apple's calculator application has absolutely nothing to do with location, as I proved to you above.
Hi,
My phone does the same thing. It is the standard apple calculator from what I can tell. However, the actual applicaiton is not listed anywhere on phone. When I look at the list of applications it is not there, under privacy it is not there, no where except as an application on my home screen.
The really interesting part is the location services shows being used in teh top right of the screen. Then you double click the home button and there is a litte grey bar that shows the calculator is using my location.
I am suspecting it is some how a calculator on another device (my laptop maybe) that is showing the location due to using the same apple ID. The reason is because my phone just showed locaiton services being used by safari in teh same location on my phone. I am currently using safari to type this message on my laptop.
There also does not appear to be anthing around my locaiton and the use of the calculator on the laptop either.
Will have to explore this more. But it does creep me out since there are no settings anywhere on the phone.
If anyone figuers this out. Please post back.
Thanks
The Calculator app has absolutely nothing to do with location.
There is no listing of Calculator anywhere under Settings > Privacy, including location services.
Hi sberman,
I know there is not nothing showing in settings and yet it is the standard apple calculator as I can not delete it. So What the .....
And exactly how do you know the calculator is using "your location"? When you are ready to present facts instead of a paranoid blurb, someone may be able to assist, until then, good luck.
