Macbook Pro 2016 support for Plustek Scanners

Hi, I have recently brought a Macbook Pro 2016 model with Sierra OSX 10.12.3.

The scanner software is Silverfast 8.8 which is supposedly updated for this OS 10.12.

Not all users are experiencing my problem hence it might not be the software.

I noticed there's no support for the Plustek scanners, and using the thunderbolt USB dongle, it is not able to find the scanner.

Under system preference, when the scanner is ON, Sierra cannot find the scanner in the first place.

Are there any work arounds? So far it seems the upgrade creates quite a bit of problems to my workflow and render some of my devices useless.

Cheers!

You can go to the Plustek site and check if they have a driver for your model scanner and Sierra: http://plustek.com/usa/support/drivers-and-downloads.html

In the future before upgrading an operating system or buying a new computer be sure to check that third party devices you use support the new computer or operating system. The problem is not with Sierra but with the third party device developer not updating their support/driver apps for the newer systems.
