Lexmark X4650 and El Capitan Nighmare...

After the last update from apple regarding Lexmark software, and as recent as the beginning of Feb. 2017, while trying to print I have a message that says "unable to communicate with printer" I have followed all instructions given like uninstall and reload, to extensive to describe in one question, bottom line I called Lexmark and they offered to "fix the problem for a price" but before I dump My Lexmark printer for a new non Lexmark printer, I am requesting help to fix this communication problem, and if not possible to fix, I will appreciate advice on selecting a new printer compatible with El Capitan.

Thanks in advance.

Thank You Eric Root, I have done that before uninstalling and after loading the recommended driver with no positive results. I think Lexmark has a way of doing it but it will cost more that a new printer, and it looks to Me that they are willing to let go clients who buy ink from them, not good for business And not good for clients, some other posts say that since they bought Lexmark is all grief trying to make it work with Apple.

What really hurt Me is that this market practices only harm the enviroment.
