I have downloaded an .exe file but it shows as a Flash file kind although the extension is .exe, and I can't install the program.
Please can you assist to rectify the issue.

.exe files are Windows executable.
Regardless of what you rename them, they will not run on your Mac directly. They can only be run under Windows.
Some readers who find themselves in this situation have unwittingly downloaded Trojan Horse malware. It is often a good thing it cannot be run directly.
