disabled iphone data recovery

My son recently disabled my iphone 6+ and after entering the 'correct' passcode, still locked me out and it now asks me to connect to iTunes (i.e. no hope to get any data back). I am wondering if anyone has had any success with a type of third party software that can extract photos and video without backup? I know it is a risk to spend money on (as it is not 100% guaranteed), but if anyone has personal experience (either good or bad), it would greatly help me in deciding which one to get. Thank you

Thank you so much for your reply 🙂 Unfortunately, me being extremely stupid (and yes I only have myself to blame here), I didn't have iCloud turned on to backup my data and I just checked my iCloud account and no data from the phone is there. Thanks though for the suggestion. I have switched on the iCloud backup on my new phone though, so that this doesn't happen again.

If it is an iPhone 5s or newer and is disabled, there is no way to extract anything from it. Do not waste any money on data recovery software - it is worthless on any iphone with secure enclave hardware and firmware, which first was introduced with the 5s. All any recovery software could possible get back from the device would be unintelligible encrypted gibberish. Once disabled, simply knowing the screen lock passcode alone is insufficient to decrypt the data.
