Unable to install apps after Apple ID Change

Hello,

After changing my Apple ID on my iPad I m unable to download apps that were downloaded under the previous account.

New apps (i.e. apps that were not on the iPad under the old account) can be downloaded without any issues.

e.g. I am unable to download the chrome app, I only get the cloud icon (when tapping on the icon, i get the revolving animation and then back to the cloud icon) even though I haven't downloaded the app under the new account, however the app was there under the old account.

Likewise, firefox app which was not downloaded using either accounts, was downloaded without any issues.

I have restarted the iPad, signed out my new Apple ID and signed back.

when trying to install Chrome app without signing in to any Apple ID, I see the GET icon, tapping gives me the INSTALL icon, tapping that give the circle icon and then back to nothing

I am using and iPad 2 iOS version 9.3.5 (13G36)

Hi

All apps are tied to the apple ID they were download with you need to download

Again with current ID if you have changed all ID then you will need to pay for

Some apps again this also applys to music .

I've seen the following trick suggested for these situations. Open the app store and scroll to the bottom of the Featured page. Tap your Apple ID in the lower left and logout, then login. Then try to download the app.

Hi. Your iPad and the old apps are owned by the original Apple ID. It is really difficult to move them to a new ID, although you could erase the device and set it up as new. Instead of creating a new ID and trying to move the device to it, you can change your ID, as described here Change your Apple ID - Apple Support. Since you've already created a new Apple ID, presumably with your preferred email address, you won't be able to change the old ID to the new email. You could create a new email account (gmail?) purely for use as Apple ID, and change your old ID to it.

Thanks Diana, but the thing is, even if I sign in with the old Apple ID account, I am still unable to download previously installed apps. But any other app that was not previously downloaded, installs without any issues.

on my iPhone which is running iOS 10 I can download an app using an account - delete the app and easily redownload it again using a different Apple ID account.

Do I have to restore my device? or do you have any other suggestions.

Resetting the iPad to factory settings resolved the issue.

Thanks Brian, but the problem occurs after deleting the app and when trying to download it using the new ID.
