Issues with cards in Wallet

I've come across a few issues in Wallet:

- When I get a location-based notification on my iPhone lock screen for a card in Wallet (e.g. Starbucks card), it's supposed to also show in the notification center on my Apple Watch. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. The Watch is set to "Mirror my iPhone" for Apple Pay and Wallet.

- On some cards in Wallet on the Watch, the logo and name that appears at the top of the card disappears when I tap the card.

Wondering if there is any way to fix these issues or if they are just software bugs.

Hi Boblive77 !

I was so relieved to see that I wasn't the only one having this problem (although, your topic seems to be the only one to deal with this particular issue, strange it hasn't bothered more people) and I desperately tried to find the answer.

Finally today, someone at AppleCare guessed the correct workaround to get Wallet working fine. Here are the steps that worked for me :

  1. Unpair Apple Watch : this will create a backup file of the Watch on the phone
  2. Backup iPhone : you'll have to install iOS 10.3 in order to access watchOS 3.2 which corrects the issue. However, iOS 10.3 changes radically the phone's file system from HFS+ to APFS, therefore the whole data on your phone has to be converted to this new system, you'll agree a backup of your phone fill find a certain meaning here 😉 Plus, you save the Watch backup in the same time #BackupInception
  3. Install iOS 10.3 : don't freak out, due to the converting process, this takes a while, between 25 and 50 minutes. Necessary to access watchOS 3.2, if not done, the Watch app will tell you you're up to date with 3.1.3
  4. Install watchOS 3.2 : long too but worth it (especially for French guys like me, it unlocks Scribble in French 😀)
  5. Restore Watch backup : it is ok to use a backup for the watch as the issue is corrected by the two system updates

I hope this helps and that this method will work for you too, keep me posted 😉
