Should I Get The iPod shuffle?

I was wondering if I should look into buying a new shuffle just to have for special occasions. I have an iPod touch 6th gen. 32 gb. and an iPhone 7 32gb. Should I get the shuffle just to throw into a bag and go? I'm not sure because I always have my iPhone on me anyway. The only problem is that I always forget the dongle/lightning headphones and all my friends have iPhones with headphone jacks so theirs won't work with mine when we go on trips. The perks to me are that it has a headphone jack, it's not too expensive if I lose it, it's super portable and I won't waste my iPhone's battery. I understand there are also downsides, too, being that it's $49 out of my pocket and just another device laying around for those times I won't use it. Please help me figure this out.
